Archivo Barragan
FALL 2022 / ARC407 / Prof. Charlotte Von Moos / w Benjamin Martin
Archivo Barragan in Mexico City represents a significant reunion of a nation and thier cultural belongings. Rightfully including public spaces for interacting and engaging. Embracing the inconography of storage through compartmentalization and as a nod to Barragan’s axial organization. Inspired by Barragan’s use of light and color, surfaces are composed of translucent pink polycarbonate and create moments of refraction and intrigue. Lightwells guide movement through an open gallery while drawing in and diffusing light. At the soul of the project is the archive and gallery. The life and the spirit, emphasized through its central location.
